BBKA Spring Convention
April 4 - April 6
Plans are now well advanced for the 47th BBKA Spring Convention – 4th – 6th April – at Harper Adams University. The venue is in the Shropshire countryside, a short distance from the M54, with the nearest rail stations being Telford, Stafford and Shrewsbury.
This Convention is organised by beekeepers for beekeepers, and there is always something new, with topics for everyone’s level of interest and knowledge. The Trade Show on Saturday is a great opportunity to meet the traders, handle equipment, try on bee-suits, trade-in rendered beeswax, inspect books and so much more! The atmosphere is friendly, with places to have a coffee and catch up with beekeepers you know, and to meet beekeepers you don’t know – yet!
For those planning to enjoy more than one day, please note that the limited on-site accommodation will be available as part of a three-night dinner, bed & breakfast package only. For shorter stays or after on-site accommodation is full, there are hotel and B&B options within a few miles, particularly in Telford. Camping / caravanning at Harper Adams can also be booked on the Convention website from late January. This year those staying off campus can choose to pay for a full breakfast in the refectory or buy breakfast items in the nearby Graze café.
If you only have time for the Trade Show on Saturday 5th April, then ‘Trade Show Only’ tickets are available at the Convention on the day, with the ticket price held at just £6. These tickets also give access to ‘Speakers Corner’, a programme of informal talks on products and services, where you can ask questions and debate with fellow beekeepers.
